WTS Bob Marvel 1911

Post by tomv36 on Mon Aug 20, 2018 8:43 am

I purchased this gu a couple of years ago from a former US Army Reserve pistol team member. He bought the gun new in 1965 and had it accurized by Bob Marvel in the late 90's when he retired from the team. He did not shoot it much after that and neither did I. The gun is very tight and I believe not completely broken in. The original bluing is about perfect and, as you would expect, the gun is super accurate. Two original tuned mags and Ultradot sight included.

$2,250.00 delivered to your FFL.

Does that pistol have any Bob Marvel markings or logo on it? Does it have a Kart barrel in it? Thanks

There's a picture of the "R Marvel Custom" marking near the muzzle. I believe it has a Nowlin barrel in it.

Nowlin marks his barrels on top of chamber.

Oops;) couldn’t see the Marvel signature on the slide on my phone this morning. This is probably an early Marvel because of the signature and not the logo. Bob did try all the barrels available. Nowlin was typically engraved into the top of the chamber. I remember many of the guys on the team having Bob do work for them.

Great deal. Do not sell it. I am sure if you can get in touch with Bob perhaps he can find you a buyer. Last I heard he was doing things with Night Hawk.
