WTS SLIDE MOUNT 45 ACP WAD GUN

Post by teg2658 on 9/9/2018, 10:16 am

MKIV Series 70 Colt Govt
Kart barrel and bushing
Long trigger
Series 70 Gold Cup hammer that gives it a soft clean break
Aimpoint 3000 slide mounted
Round count is between 200 & 300.
When I got the gun from Brothers Custom I mounted the scope, zeroed and function tested. Then put it in my Ransom rest and tried my pet 50 yard loads. At that point it became my back up gun and I never fired it in a match since my main 45 never had issues. I also had 4 wad guns at the time.
PM email address for pictures of the gun and test targets.
$1600 plus shipping.

So what was the resulting group size of the ransom rest tests?

I spoke with Bill this past spring, he has guns to build, not sure of the wait. His work is outstanding.

The forum won't let me send an email because I'm new, so can you post pics and tell me where the gun is located?

Thanks!

Valerie

You need to do some serious research and reading. From your previous thread, this would be a fine pistol for you. As for shooting 1" at 50 yards, that doesn't happen. So many variables involved and as I said, please read a bunch of threads by doing a search. If you were joking, then my bad.

Good Luck,

Joel

You might get 1" from a 9mm. From a .45 you won't usually get better than 1.5".

You are right for the most part. I've seen a sub 1" ten shot group at 50 yards, but it is rare. 1.5" is sub X ring. I think sub-3" groups are fine. For the great price that Tom has on this pistol, it won't last long, especially considering how many new shooters lately have been asking about buying a .45 ACP wad gun.

I agree, having a good pistol that is properly fit, reliable with a good trigger even if it shoots 3" will be fine for a beginner.

So, 8 shots in about 1" plus 2 fliers that open it up to about 2".  I don't know why anyone wouldn't be satisfied with that.
