Reloading guide?

I am just starting to reload and was wondering what is the best all around reloading guide.

This forum. I have the Lyman and the Sierra reloading books. I don't use them. There are better answers here.

I have the Speer and Lyman. They are good ones and have excellent instructions on how to reload in the front of the book. For bullseye specific .45 ACP reloads, there are many tried and true recipes that you won't find in the manual.

Standard loading manuals will give you very little useful info as to bullseye loads, If you look at the header topics in this section you can see what many accomplished shooters loads are. They are tried and true and will do the same for you. Here is the link to the topic

What the others had said about Bullseye loads is true. But get a good hand book as it will teach you the things that many of us seasoned hand loaders take for granted. I recommend Lyman and Spear. Truth be told many hand loaders have more than two books.

You might consider a subscription to loaddata.com, especially if you want to load for more than bullseye. I would agree that you will find about all you need for bullseye loads on this site, but loaddata has tons of stuff. I thought I would subscribe for one year then cancel, but I use it on a regular basis. I guess that is what happens when you keep buying new guns!!

It depends on your gun, a scope mounted on the slide needs at least 3.8 of bullseye,clays,v-310 to work, if iron sights 3.6 will do it

Good accuracy at 50yds or 25yds?

at 50 you should test and use what gives you the best group. There are lots of starting points to get you started in testing.

My best example was using VV310 when trying to mimic the 'marine' load it would not cycle my slide. The lock up in my gun takes more power. My 45 is set up as a BALL gun and so for me with a scope I need at minimum of 4.0 BE and a 12# spring to get perfect functionality for shooting 25yds. At 50 I load 4.4BE for now...more testing is on the schedule.
