I would normally suggest targetsportsusa.com but it looks like they are running waayyyyy behind on shipping orders and are out of stock on the CCI SV.

Good luck in your quest.

It was all readily available 2 months ago at a descent price.

All the cheaper stuff that I use such as CCI SV is all but pretty much gone and all the upper stuff like Center X went up in price.

I have enough CCI SV for a year or so and bought 5000 Center X a month ago a couple days before the price went up 50 cents a box of 50.

Got to love it as it was the same 4 years ago...

No sir its not, A couple of friends and I just ordered 4 cases, after being on hold for a hour and 26 min.! They dont list it as sold out but the fine print says 120 delivery time. So maybe it will get here about summer time i guess. Also they went up on the price to 275.00 a case shipped.

I really do not understand every time the talk turns to gun control everyone seems to think they need to run out an buy every last round of .22 ammo. I really do not think we will see a ban on .22 ammo anytime soon.

I find it frustrating and in the end we end up hurting each other. I can not afford to stock pile large amounts of ammo and primers. So in the end I may be forced to not shoot in matches I want to because somebody has purchased all of the supplies and has it sitting in the corner holding the carpet down.

I am sure I am alone.

I understand buying up AR15's and Magazines holding more than 10 rounds because we could see those banned. I wish I could buy some of those.

I was a boy scout so i follow the motto, Be Prepared! I buy my components thru the year for next season and keep at least enough to go two without problems. I feel for those caught without.

I started buying primers and powder last summer thinking this would happen. The only thing I am low on is bullets but I get those from a local source so I am not too worried.

If you want very good cast bullets, Bob at Quality Cast bullets can fix you up, great price and 2000 shipping is just 16.00

Also gunbroker has a lot of auctions going right now for CCI standard velocity if you care to bid.

I understand being prepared but I get the felling like some of the prepared people are going from a 1-2 yr stock to 3-5+ yr stock.

Buying CCI at an auction I agree is an option but then the guy who stockpiled makes some extra bucks at a fellow gun owners expense. This does not seem fair to me and seems like against our culture. If I had extra ammo or primers I would sell it for what I paid for it to help a fellow shooter out.

I find the stockpiling of ammo obserd. If this continues, it will eventually slow gun sales. Once the first time buyers have gotten their guns. Gun manufacturers should be putting pressure on ammo makers to increase output. However they realize they are making higher profits while demand is so high. My hope is patience wins out and those of us who have been taken advantage of will see the tables turn.

Don't you think the ammo mfrs. are making ammo as fast as they can? They want to ride this wave of increased sales too---they obviously can't keep up. They are already maxed out on production. Nobody knows how long this run on ammo will last and I bet the ammo mfrs. are reluctant to increase capacity in case the demand drops back off before they can recover any upgrade costs.

Obama and his head Nut job Feinstein is the reason for the ammo being sold, people are afraid that's the next thing they will go for, those that think stocking up is obserd, will probilly be the guys mowing the lawn those Sundays the rest of us who didn't think that way are shooting a match. In troubled times you have to look forward

Stocking up is one thing we are all planning ahead trying to build a reasonable reserve. Stock piling is another animal build 2 and 3 year supplies is observe. Also i take care of my grass before I go shooting some things are a responsibility some things are a hobby.

Of all the bullseye shooters i know, all keep at least a 2 or three year reserve of ammo to shoot bulllseye its a smart thing to do imo I have way more, and for good reason. By getting it now while im working one day when i retire and my income lowers provided the democrats have not raped the social security system to oblivion i wont have to worry about being able to afford to enjoy my hobby. But some may be in Barneys shoes i guess, but thats their choice. lol!Help finding .22 lr 14974_10

Just rip on people who don't stockpile one more time DAVID R. Maybe we haven't caught on that you think it's a good idea because you are being so subtle.

Was one of the principles of boyscouts to make the same rude point over and over again? GEEZ...you made your point, now let it go.

With that kind thinking I hope you enjoy competing against yourself because if there is no ammo for other shooters who are trying to get involved in the sport. On the other hand it might make it easier for you too win. I try to think of others as I live my life which becoming a rarity. I would rather see the sport grow than have it limited to those that are selfish.

We are all on the same side here but share a different opinion of how to react. The NRA would like to us to react like this is the end of gun ownership and before we know it the 2nd amendment will be gone forever. They have the same knee jerk response every time the gun control nuts start talking. Which is not much better than the same knee jerk reaction the gun control nuts starting trying to take stuff away. Because of this people start reacting by buying up everything they can.

I had not even thought about the fact there are people trying to get started and they are going to struggle to find ammo and also guns.

In the meantime we end up hurting each other. Not everybody will be able to stock pile years and years of supplies because there is just not enough supply to go around. So David R. I think your comments are off base and as an admin you should be a little less rude.

I recommend this particular topic end here. There are other forums where this type of discussion is more appropriate.

For those of us who have been around the sport for a while, we saw the same thing when the Brady bill passed. We also know that there is a lot of sharing between bullseye shooters. At my first DR match a friend loaned me his S&W revolver and the ammo. Nothing was asked in return except that I do my best. Sharing the wealth (or ammo) is not the same as redistribution of the wealth.

It was not my intent to be rude, I was just trying to emphasize in these times its best to stock a little forward. Im not a hoarder and all my stuff was bougt when things were plentiful and cheap and nobody suffered because of it. Since the shortage i have pulled from my reserves and furnished ammo to those that cant get it right now. Last season due to the bad economy, I reloaded for every match a friend and new bullesye shooter could make it to, This year he was finally able to afford to get set up in reloading and can do it himself. To me bullseye is a brotherhood and i and most of my friends carry extra ammo to every match just in case a fellow shooter has a bad batch or forgot his or whatever. When I started in bullseye people helped me and im just trying to continue that on as many of us do.

Post by WVBE Shooter 1/28/2013, 10:24 pm

I have been working very hard to get involved with the sport for almost a year. I finally got the pistols this fall and winter and have been looking forward to doing a lot of practice this spring. I guess I'm just frustrated because it seems like my hard work and moneys spent are all for not. I have never been through an ammo shortage so I was unable to put much back and do not know what to expect. I feel terrible for the families who have lost loved ones to any kind of violence. However I play by the rules and pay my taxes and being penalized for matters out of my control.

I'm not sure where the problem is. I have some SK coming from Champschoice today and I got a flyer from Midway last night that had tons of Eley. If you're looking for something specific, let us know and we can check sources. I have noticed that the CCI is not around.

Cheers,

Joel
