CCI SV and Bullseye powder IN STOCK---if you are an Illinois resident with a FOID card.

Dear Illinois FOID card holders:

I stopped at the huge Cabellas in Hoffman Estates (right by the Sears Center a few miles west of O'Hare) and they had just received A LOT of all varieties of Alliant Powder including Bullseye, Green Dot, and other Alliant formulas that could be used for pistol loads.

Unfortunately I had to leave empty handed because Illinois requires a FOID card for pistol ammo, and reloading supplies.  Seriously? Reloading supplies?  Illinois is officially the biggest suck hole to ever suck.  I hope the bears never win another Superbowl, and the Cubs always finish last place in baseball.

On a better note, they have CCI SV in plastic 100 packs for $8ish.  They did let me buy 1 pack of 100, because I said it was for a rifle.

I can think of all kinds of funny things FOID stands for, but they involve the curse words I said after I left Cabellas while the store had more Bullseye powder than I did.

Have to agree about the suck hole comment. You should have been able
to buy the stuff, FOID cards are only for IL residents . Did you talk to a manager?
Don't know about the Bears but the Cubs shouldn't disappoint .

Yes, I talked to the manager and they stated that gunpowder could only be sold to FOID card holders.  I even made the point that I can't get a FOID card because I'm not a IL resident.

Stopped in on Friday afternoon, no more CCI std vel, and I bought 2 of the 4 pounds of bullseye powder that was there.  Didn't see any large pistol primers.

Yes, the FOID thing sucks here, but that isn't the bad part of our gun rights issues in this state, it is the morons that run the state and chicago that screw things up.

I found an IL supreme court case from 2011 that decided that any out of state resident that is eligible to possess firearms in their home state is exempt from FOID requirements.  They should have let me buy the stuff with my WI CCL as evidence.

Cabela's is a strange place to buy ammo. Yes you should have been allowed to buy ammo and components without an IL FOID. Cabela's wont even ship ammo to my house and after a heated discussion with a store manager was told it's illegal to ship ammo to IL residents, which by the way is total BS. Cabela's makes up their own rules as they go and IMO have slid down a few notches from the Cabela's of yesteryear. 

 Cabela's should have done better research before they opened that store just south of one of the most liberal towns outside Chicago. They did so much less business that they thought they would  that they had to close down the upstairs portion of that Hoffman Estates store.

To clarify you should have said Cook County sucks, and so do the Cubs and Bears  . No sense in offending the good people of the other parts of IL that have a positive view of gun owners.
