Loading for a Walther GSP-C

Traded for a Walther GSP-C.  Shooting buddy traded me a Dillon Square Deal B set up for 32 S&W and threw in 1000 pieces of brass and 3000 bullets..  Tell me about bullets for this thing.  What works best, cast double ended wadcutter (DEWC) or swaged hollow base (HB)?  How about powder, primers and brass?

i had good luck with hbwc, 98 or 100 gr, 3.3 bullseye powder

David are you sure about 3.3 grs of Bullseye? I use to load 1.8grs of W231 and AA2 with a 98-100gr LWC in the .32 Hammerli SP20 I owned. Get over 2grs and you blow the skirt off the hollow base wad cutter.

Don't worry about the loading data...  Even an "unclassified" shooter like myself knows that 3.3 grains of bullseye in a 32 wadcutter gun doesn't pass the sanity check.  Looks like a typo.   I'm running 3.7 grains of BE in my 45.

The SDB that I'm acquiring was bought as a 32 S&W loader.  The seller says that as such  this SDB came wiith the extra small powder bar.

I think that 2.3 grains of BE is max load for HBSWC in .32 S&W but I couldn't find that combo in my reloading book to double check.

As the good ole boys say, "This Ain't My First Rodeo! "    While I'm calling myself an "Unclassified" shooter I do have a Distinguished badge and am a 2600 club member.  Holding a Chief's 50 badge and a past member of the All National Guard Shooting Team too.  Last competed in '96 when my daughter was born.   Retired from my real job last year and am now thinking I'm going to start back competing.   Sure would like to take up where I left off.  Kind of leads into what I'm looking for in 32 bullet/powder combinations.   I'm looking for proven 50 yard loads.  If this thing won't shoot with my Dan Norwood built 38 Super Colt I don't know that I need to be spending any time with it.  The Norwood 38 Super is an inside the X ring gun...

Sorry about that , thats for a 38 spl, 32 was 1.3 short line 1.7 long line.

Hope to bring my GSP-C home Saturday.  I'll pick up the Dillon Square Deal with 1000 pieces of Starline brass and 2000 DEWCs next weekend.  Planning to order a scope base and brass catcher from Champions Choice next week.  I think CC carrries a HBWC I may try too.  With luck I'll have results to post soon..

I load for a GSP Walther and a HP Pardini and I use 1.5 WST and any the .32 target/wadcutter .314 bullets 80-100 grain..The HBWC swaged bullets seen to work the best..I think the H&N bullets probably shoot the best although I've done pretty well with the Maguns and the Lapua as well..Bullseye powder will also work as I've used 1.5 BE with good results..It seems as the WST has slightly less recoil but I'd use either one..I use these loads for International shooting which is done at 25 yds and 50 ft..These pistols seem to be pretty forgiving at the short lines..I do think bullet diameter is the real critical factor as I've actually seen guys shoot to small of diameter bullet and they have all kinda weird problems..The dies are somewhat of a problem as well because of the different diameters..I called LEE and told the engineer what diameter bullet I was using and he sent me the right size dies and I have never had any problems..I also only use Lapua brass and .314 bullets with the LEE dies..Not to be bragging but I can make .32 ammo that looks every bit as nice as brand new factory ammo but shoots better and a whole lot cheeeper.I also taper crimp and have never had a jam with either pistol..If you are going to use a Square Deal you might watch the powder measure as I'm not sure how accurately it will drop these light loads..I use a Hornady measure with pistol rotor and this thing works really nice and seems to be very accurate..

We'll be loading with a SDB that was delivered from Dillon as a 32 loader with the small powder bar.   I have hopes that it will produce some accurate loads.  Do have some 50 yard reservations about the 32's capabilty.  Worse case it will become a short course centerfire gun..  If I can scrounge some factory ammo we'll sand bag it at 25 yards this week.

I haven't reloaded it a lot, but so far, my reloads are not as accurate as factory ammo. I suspect it will be a challenging round to get just to factory ammo standards.
