IZH-35M Help Empty IZH-35M Help

Post by Jar-hed 2/1/2014, 2:28 pm

I found a nice used IZH-35M at my local gun shop for a reasonable price.  So, I picked it up.  I really like the gun so far.  It shoots to call, and is ultra- reliable, with any kind of ammo.  My problem is the trigger weight.  It currently measures a consistent 1 lb, 10 oz.  I can't get the trigger weight adjustment screw to have any effect.  My internet research tells me that clockwise should increase the weight.  I've got the screw bottomed out and there is no change throughout the range of the screw's travel.  I intend to use this gun for Bullseye, so, I've got to get it up to 2 lbs.  Anyone out there with experience on this gun, who might have any idea on how to fix this issue?

and had the trigger done and it had a sub 2 pound weight.

I got some 90 wt gear oil and greased the trigger mechanism and it would hold 2 pounds through the end of the match.

Course after a while it would increase more and more till I had to clean it off an reapply.

I sold my IZH-35M a long time ago, but as I recall, there is also a screw that adjusts the level of sear engagement.   You might be able to increase the trigger pull by adjusting that screw.

I wouldn't decrease the sear engagement.   These guns were notorious for doubling.....etc.

With some guns, the screw can be backed out enough that it doesn't engage when you try to re add the weight. Make sure you check that.

Also, try a search at targettalk if you don't find the answer here.
