Accurate 9mm - not for competition per se

I am seeking an accurate 9mm pistol that won't break the bank. Haven't tried a cz75 yet but typically with smaller sized hands I don't love a double stack.

I have a Springfield 9mm 1911, which I use for a Nelson conversion 22 - great for that purpose after a nice 2.5 trigger job, but, it is quite inaccurate shooting the 9mm stock. Too bad because I can make my 9mm for about the same cost as a cheaper 22 round.

Your sprinfield 9mm must not be the range officer model, they come with a match barrel and are quite accurate. Not many 9's are very accurate if basing on bullseye accuracy standards. Those that are that accurate will be bank breakers. Also reloading a very accurate 9mm round is not that easy. That's why many shoot factory match ammo in the 9's rather than reload.

Based on your smaller hands leave your other springfield as your .22 lower, and try a 9mm Springfield Range Officer--or go ahead and get into .45acp--that way you can shoot the CF and .45 bullseye stages with that platform.  Since you are already reloading, you can make .45s almost as cheap as 9mm.

Based on the above information.If your looking for an accurate (not bullseye) pistol that won't break the bank is fun to shoot and fits a smaller hand. I would recommend a S&W model 439.They are single stacked and more accurate then an M9 out of the box.They are old school and don't have a single plastic part.They run around 400.00-600.00 depending on quality.

Before you give up on the CZ 75, pick one up and play with it.  The CZ 75 with omega trigger is a thing of beauty for the price of usually around $400.  In single action mode, you may be able to deal with the shorter trigger reach for a range/fun gun.

+ one on the older steel smiths 9mms floating around.  Those guns shot well but are getting harder to find at least in my neck of the woods here in PA.
