WTB Target grips for 1911

Post by inthebeech on 7/28/2014, 7:59 am

Since I used the excuse of not having them in the last 2700, I can't use it again so I may as well get a set.

Vitarbo -(Looks like according to the dims on BE gear site, I am a Large)
Fung - med/large
Nils - med/large

Right hand.  Well-worn is fine as long as price is commensurate with condition.  Let me know what you have.

I have been watching these grips. They look good but a little small for my xx hands.

The grips at
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1911-anatomical-grips-for-Les-Baer-/251597147527?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a945bcd87
are Rink grips, which sell for ca $230 new. I think these are much better than Vartarbo's grips. Dipnet  Shocked

I agree that they look like Rink grips based on the ones that are on my Pardini SP.  I would be careful about what sizing parameters were used to manufacture the grips.  Rink sizing is more involved than just small, medium, large, etc.

those could be rinks cause they have the place for the emblem on the right side but they are the almost identical to the vatarbos, most times with these types you just have to do some carving or adding material to get the right fit.

The upsweep actually does have an "R".

I'm fairly certain the grips I posted the ebay-link for are indeed Rinks, having lusted after a pair. I would be buying them right now if I hadn't already spent my "gun allotment" this quarter.

Such is fate. It appears that the "circle-R" fell out of the grips in several photos and was pasted back on (or they could be a clever forgery). You can always email the seller and ask for better images.

One thing about quality grips: they are easy to re-sell. If they don't fit your hand and you have to sell them, make sure to post quality images (properly exposed, in-focus) and they will sell. Dipnet

They do say they do say Rink in the description.
Rink grip for NRA Bullseye with upswept palm rest. This Rink grips parameters are Right hand, large, flat, zero degrees, thick. It was made for a Colt 1911. It was modified to fit on a Les Baer Premium II. I removed about 1 mm from the upswept as it was a bit thick for me. I've used it a couple of times.

The ones from BE gear arrived and they are too small. They are out of stock on the Larges that I need so I am still looking.
