Buyer Beware - Dillon no longer has a written warranty on any of their products.

As Dillon would like to suggest otherwise, they no longer have a written warranty on any of their products.  Their so called "no BS warranty" is just marketing hype.  Before contradicting my statement please be prepared to point to a written warranty.

Regardless of being written down Dillon will take care of you at least they always have with me.

No written warranty fixed my 19 yr old RL550 at no charge. I guess I don't care if it is written, just honored.

David R and bgw-45 - Thanks for validating my statement that Dillon no longer has a written warranty.  But consider that although they once honored a warranty that existed previously they are not necessarily obligated to honor it in the future and they certainly aren't obligated to honor a non-existent warranty for products sold today.  For future buyers of reloading equipment I suggest looking at what warranty commitments other manufacturers offer.  Again, the "no BS warranty" proferred by Dillon is nothing more than a vapor-warranty.  Other manufacturers, i.e. Hornady, RCBS, et al stand by their products with a warranty in writing.

I guess I should have put your statement in quotes. I don't know. What I do know is that Dillon stood behind their product when most companies would have grinned and looked the other way. Good luck with whomever you decide to do business.

bgw45 - Please go back and read my last post again.  What warranty you had before may not necessarily be honored in the future and Dillon isn't obligated to honor a non-existent warranty for products sold today.  It's good that you're happy with what you have and how it's been serviced in the past but I don't think you help the bullseye community by providing anecdotal evidence to suggest that Dillon's warranty is something that it's not.  Oh, I have a Dillon XL650.  But I'm seriously considering taking it back to the gunshop where it was purchased.

I have to agree - I've had too many products of various kinds that came with a written warranty, but when it came time to fix something they found ways to get around it. On the Dillon website Mike Dillon says:

Whether you are the first owner, or the seventeenth, all our hobby-level reloading machines have a lifetime warranty. So, beeser is right - Dillon's do not come with a written warranty...because you don't need one to get things fixed. Even without a piece of paper I still trust Dillon to take care of any problems. My experience with Dillon has been the same as other folks have already mentioned - you call and you get a live person, not a recording, and that person takes care of the problem. No arguments, no nit-picking over whose fault it is, just problem-solving and excellent customer service. I tend to be more impressed with actual performance than what someone promises, and Dillon has quite a history when it comes to making things right for their customers. Here's a thought - if a piece of paper makes you feel better maybe you can go to Dillon's website, click on "About Us", and print out the statement show above...

I have a buddy with a 1050 over 5 years old, I don't remember what he broke but they just took care of him no questions and the 1050 was never part of the no BS warranty.

I think for every complainer there are at least 100 that that have been treated beyond fair by Dillon.

Actions are better than words, any day of the week. Ruger quit giving written warranties several years ago, but like Dillon, they keep customers happy. I think the lawyers screwed the pooch regarding written warranties.

Thank God they don't have a written warranty... that would have probably required a written request, instead of the phone call I made about a week and a half ago and got my replacement parts two days later.  I even offered to pay, and they said no, they'd just send them out that day.  Didn't anyone tell that stupid customer service rep Dillon didn't have to stand behind their product???  Or, maybe he knew I bought my Dillon used from someone else... that could have made a difference.

Let me see...I have a couple of RCA radios with written warranties. Now that it has been made clear that a WRITTEN warranty is the magic answer to good customer service...anyone know where I can send those to get 'em fixed?

FWIW - I just called Dillon for new parts in the SDb primer feed.  No questions asked.   No warranty numbers, no hesitation.     Parts are on the way.

I also have a 550B.  Dillon has backed up every thing when needed.  (Which is not very often)  A few years back, my 550 needed cleaning and lube in the operating hinges.  I took it apart and cleaned everything.  (I am savvy enough to do these type things) On reassembly I realized that the main plate needs aligning.  I called Dillon.  The rep supplied the info I needed and even sent a needed aligning tool.  No charge, no hassle.

(Frankly, I surprised some didn't suggest really extreme measures like banning from the list).  That's a joke son, don't get too serious here. 

Yes, we know that Dillon does not have a written warranty, like some other suppliers and gun builders. I'm sure you can find someone, sometime or somewhere, that had a problem with Dillon they did not think was properly handled.  To the best of my knowledge, I would take Dillon's word over theirs because Dillon has something that demonstrates the lack of need for a written warranty, their previous actions.  Not paper, not talk, but direct action to support and maintain their products. 

After 20 or so years of dealing with a company that fully supports the shooters and shooting sports, I have never paid to have anything I have purchased from them repaired or replaced (with the exception of electric equipment after the "everything" change a few years ago since they did not manufacture the electric stuff), no matter how it got broke, failed or simply quit.  Not many other manufacturers will take that crappy, parts missing press that you picked up at the estate sale or the junk pile and send you back a functional piece of blue machinery without charge.

So, take the information and the lumps, learn the sport, the people, the suppliers and have fun.  Bullsye shooters have long memories, carry grudges, but are also extremely loyal to those that do right.  Fortunately, Dillon falls in the category of "doing it right".  Just take it as a learning experience, that's what we are all here for.

This would certainly be written statement of lifetime warranty.

beeser, starting 3 different threads for essentially the same thing doesn't come off well. 

Stepping back and doing some research on how well people are treated by Dillon how they are respected, would have been a better approach.  Yes they make mistakes we all do but remember someone is over 100-1,000 times more likely to post on a negative experience than a positive one - even if they (the poster) are in the wrong.  My company did tons of market research that supported this.  Also if someone/company is on top people are more quick to try and make a case for why they shouldn't be there.

I have owned and used a Dillon press for 29 years and have had a few parts fail. All it takes is a phone call and the parts are on the way. Dillon has EARNED my trust and respect. You are not on that path.

I think beeser jumped to the incorrect conclusion about Dillon.  While they don't give away stuff like they used to, they do take care of their customers and make a good product.

We don't need to discuss this any further.
