Will this GunHo box work? Empty Will this GunHo box work?

Post by beeser Sun Dec 28, 2014 1:05 pm

I purchased this used GunHo box a couple of months ago not knowing much about it.  There have been some discussion in the past about some of the boxes not being large enough for guns with red dots.  Here is a pic of the box with a S&W 686 and wart sitting on top of it inside.  There is a little over 8 1/2" clearance from the tray to the top of the box.  Note the 1989 Camp Perry sticker.

They don't get much taller then that. Yep,it will work. Probably won't fit in your SUV though so I will offer you 20.00 for it. Laughing

Shameful only having 1 show up to the party...  That Pardini would have looked nice in there!

I went through 3 boxes before getting my GunHo, nice box.

Cruel, and just when I was forgetting about letting the Pardini go.  Oh well, I'm on the hunt for a replacement and hopefully I've learned my lesson.
Another Pardini .22lr/.32 combination or?
S&W 617 - you bet when I find the right one
S&W 625 - same as the above

Its the same box I have used for years, minus the scars and stickers.  Holds my M41, M52, 1911, and at times either a K-28 or a 1911 service pistol. Ammo usually goes in a separate bag.  Should serve you well for many years.  If you shoot Camp Perry you will need a clamp for the lid and a couple bungee straps to tie the box down.

Good score Beeser.  I love the old school boxes.

Beeser,

A 625? A 25-2 with a 6" barrel might look even better Smile ; and leave the "wart" off of it.

I agree 25-2 is a lot nicer pistol... But I would put the wart on it. Makes a great Reeves gun.

25-2 with wart and a 29-8 without.  The wart (Ultradot) shoots better scores. (but I have old eyes)

OldMaster64, Does a Reeves gun require a scope? Not trying to argue with you on this, just asking the question.

...and, OMG they are purty!

Astroimage,

Optics are allowed for the Harry Reeves match, but not required.  I just shoot my iron sighted DR gun with HBWC ammo.

Rob answered your Question Astroimage but I guess I should have mentioned that I shoot both of them for Reeves matches. I have fun with all my wheel guns but shoot better with dots. I am not macho enough to fire the 29 with full power 44 mag loads. Think more like 44 Russian loads.

Is that a "no" on the 20.00 offer Beeser?

OldMaster64,

Now that IS the way to fly Smile . One of each is better than one any day. The scope on the 25 looks good to me and I would love to have a 25 chambered in a 45ACP with or without a scope.
