Well, trying to burn some Christmas Gift Cards to Cabelas and from looking it appears that they sell Hornady 200 gr swaged LSWC.
No experience and wanted to know if the Hornady were an acceptable subsitute for Magnus/Zero bullets.

They are very "pretty" and well made, but they haven't been very accurate (in terms of bullseye use) in my .45s. I think that Hornady makes the most aesthetically pleasing swaged bullets—they just don't perform that well for me. You'll have to test some to see how they work for you.

My experience (a few years ago, now) was less than stellar at 50 yards, as well.  They're OK at 25, but I burned up the last of mine at 50 feet and don't plan to buy any more any time soon.

Roger,

I'll pass based on that advice and pick up some Magnus/Zero instead.

Hi Derek,
I have shot over 2650 with both the Hornady 200gr SWC's and 185gr Magnus #801 SWC in the same Kart barreled pistol, so both worked for me.
Please remember that with soft swaged bullets you need an oversize expander (mine is .4525" dia) to prevent these soft lead bullets from being made smaller in diameter by stock expanders that do not expand the brass sufficiently.
My .02,
Wes

Hi Wes,

Long time - hope all is well.  This bit of info is new to me.  My die is definitely stock.  Thanks!
