Winchester Primers ? Empty Winchester Primers ?

Post by WV1911SHOOTER Mon Jan 12, 2015 3:23 pm

I picked up some yesterday at our local guns show.

Will they be too hard to run in my wad gun with a lighter mainspring causing light strikes ?

I like WLPs and I don't have any trouble with an 18lb mainspring.  I found that the .22 ammo with a conversion was more sensitive to softer mainsprings than the WLPs are.

Thanks Rob, I have a steel Marvel unit and you are correct as it's ammo sensitive.  I have several thousand Feds so the WLPs can be used in other guns if they become an issue.

As always your input is welcomed.

Shouldn't have any problems, wlp's are just raw brass, plated brass primers like cci tend to be harder, but still never had a issue, if you do change the ms, you don't need a light one anyway

I use them all the time, and have for the last couple of years. I have yet to have any issues with Winchester primers.
I now use them in all my loads from light Bullseye loads to target loads for my .308 Gas gun.
