90s across the board with a clean 25 yard line makes 2610... Don't know about you guys but I clean a few 25 yard targets some days and no 25 yard cleans on others.    Keep that slow fire in the mid 90s and those 25 yard 97s and 98s won't hurt so bad.

If you are cleaning the short line you should be shooting mid-to-high-90s at the long line, and pushing 2650.

Shouda, Coulda, Woulda.... Very Happy   The one time in my life that I cleaned the 25 yard line I dropped 14 points at the 50 yard line and did end up with a 900 that, coupled with two more, would have been over 2650.  Still remember how easy it was... Shocked

Every time I shot an all black match (no shots in the white) I was over 2600. So try just keeping them in the black do not worry about the 8's and 9's and see what happens.

If you shoot 110 Xs (or more), your chances of breaking 2600 also are pretty good.

Doing it string after string is my challenge. I'm approaching 90 SF with the .22 at least.

.45, last week I had one magazine of TF with one in the white and four in the black. Fired the next one (I did only one target, TF, that day--short session) and AGAIN had four in the black and one in the white. 88-2X. I think it was 7 or 8 of those points down were those two shots where I crowded the bull--iron sights--AND had a looser grip.

So I'm all encouraged by the 8 shots in the black and do both TF & RF today (another short session after running other loads over the chrono) and a much looser group TF is still an 88.

Then I buck recoil on two shots in the RF strings and get an 83. Bleh.

The combined 20 shots had a nice diced-5-shot group on the X-ring, the worst ones cutting the ring with a full half of the bullet diameter. But I NEVER HIT THE 10-RING ONCE. Double-bleh.

But at least I have a good zero! I'll think about 2600 after I clear 2500 a few times.

I can remember posting a similar comment on the old bullseye list.  Something to the effect.  My goals were to break 2600 then go back to iron sights and break 2600 with irons.  But I'd need to break 2500 first.....
Since that comment, I've gotten one of them done.  keep working at it and the improvements will keep coming.

Ah, you bring back memories...  When I was closing in on 2600, I was trying to break it with a grip "almost" mounted dot sight that kept loosening during every string.  I finally gave up, pulled it off and broke 2600 with the irons.  After that I moved to a slide mounted scope, and then after an attitude shift, moved on to High Master.

Now to try to impart some philosophy:  You are going to have a more difficult time reaching score goals if you are focused on those scores, especially if you are keeping track of where you are throughout the match.  Focus on the shot plan that brings the most successful results and let the match officials keep track of the scores for you.  That's why you're paying them those "big bucks."  After the match you can see how you did.

I like the regionals that we go to in SC and in AL, they give you score cards that score each segment, I can never keep the scores in my head so I don't worry about it till its all over.

I don't keep track of the scores.  I do take picture of the score card so that on the way home after the match, I can go back and see what I did.  I'm interested in group and the process that makes the group.  I'll get there.  Having a time figuring out what sight picture to use.  Currenlty using sub-6 and pretty happy with the results.
