Dillon 1000

Post by tractorboy on Wed May 13, 2015 10:49 am

I had a Dillon 1000 years ago, then I got stupid and sold it.  It was hands down the best progressive reloader I have ever owned.  Good luck in your quest to find one.

Why the 1000 as opposed to a super 1050?

Why the 1000 when a RL 1050 is more available?

For me, the RL1000 is more desirable. I do not need one. I want one. A guy contacted me with one for sale who backed out because he decided that, " you do not need an RL1000." I have several progressives and only load 200-300 rounds a week. I does not matter "what I need". The 1050 and super 1050 are great machines and I may buy a 1050 if I can find one. It has a shorter stroke than the "super", which I prefer. Thanks

Approximate from the base face to the bottom of the tool head.

                   Clearance         Stroke

RL1050           3.135"            2.325"

Star               3.725"            2.450"

RL1050 and Star will load 223.   I don't have a Super 1050 to measure
but it has a long enough stroke to do 30-06.

I have one that I can part with. It is set up for 38 Special. I have a 9 and 45 shell plate but no other parts for the caliber conversion.
