Wolf Primers Failures to Fire

I have recently (4 months) tried Wolf large pistol primers in my 45ACP loads.  I am experiencing failures to fire in about 10% of the cartridges and most will go off on a second strike.  I have done a search on past posts and have read similar complaints back in 2012 and was wondering if this problem persists for other people; I bought these primers many years ago.  I usually use Winchester with no problems

The rifle primers require very firm seating pressure. The cups are a little more domed, and the anvils not as well set into them and they need to be set real well in the case. Look to kind of flatten that dome out as a guideline.

Have run over 20,000 doing this with no problems.

sounds like a seating depth issue on your primers. especially if they always fire on a second chance

I found that they are just a tiny big larger than, say, Winchester. I think they require special attention and extra force when seating.

25,000 Wolf LP and 1 FTF (2nd hit fired) and that was due to an experiment with a short sear and lightened main spring. I can give the lot numbers for that 25,000. 5,000 in on different lot of 25,000 and zero FTF so far.

BTW, how do you set the seating depth of the primer?

If anything I would look at the case length since .45 brass gets shorter the more times you  reload them. It could be that they are head-spacing on the extractor and causing light hits. Or the main spring weight too light?
