1911 vs Browning Hi-Power for an EIC Match

Post by Johnnie.Bair on 10/4/2015, 12:08 am

Since the Browing Hi-Power is now considered a Service Pistol and can be use for EIC Matches, can the accuracy of a Hi-Power compete equally against a NM 1911.

Does anyone have a Hi Power gunsmith they woud recommend.

Thank you,

Johnnie

A guy on my team is having an old Israeli surplus High Power accurized for just that purpose at River Valley Custom Firearms in Stevens Point Wisconsin.

They are good guys.

We can't speak to what the performance potential will be yet, but I will assure you that the work will be nice.

With the advancements with the Beretta 92 and using slower barrel twist rates, I would be most interested to know if a Hi-Power can compete with NM 1911 in accuracy.

Has anyone modified a Hi-Power for bullseye and would like to know your results/thoughts.

Thanks,

Johnnie

its still a 9mm, getting them accurate at 50 yard almost always requires a barrel change and very good match ammo, a 45 will out shoot it easy unless its highly modified. IMO

Tough to get a really good trigger on a Hipower too. Even the slide to frame fit effects it.
