Clark .38 over on Target Talk

That's the first barrel I've ever seen ramped like that. If it wasn't for the article I would've doubted the authenticity. Very interesting pistol. Looks like it's been around the block.

I had a Clark like that but it was a later version.. 38 AMU barrel converted to 38 special. it had an interesting small hump welded in the barrel seat and a notch cut in the feed ramp of the barrel to match.. almost like it was a stop

the barrel on that gun was sleeved by clark to 38


Later I had a late 70s 38 special from Clark in 6" with the mini Bomar rib.. Gun was dead reliable

The notch in the bottom of the barrel is a relief cut for a raised feedramp (added ny Clark) on the frame to ensure positive feeding of the .38 wadcutter cartridge.
Mine has it as well.

It looks like Mr. Clark bored & threaded the .45 chamber. Maybe a break out at the barrel to lug transition area? Then turned & threaded an insert-extension which was then screwed in and torqued to seat and machined into a ramp & chamber. Pretty resourceful.
