Ah no Jim I have a friend out there just north of San Diego so I thought when I go out to visit I'd take my guns and do some shooting.
I went out to Phoenix in Jan for 2 weeks to reconnect with the guy that got me started in bullseye and because he hadn't shot for the past 8 years I wanted to find some ranges to shoot at and thanks to the guys on this forum we found some ranges to shoot at and I was able to get him excited about bullseye again and as it turns out he's not far from the PR&GC and he was going to join. I might go out and stay a month and split my time between CA and AZ next year Jan-Feb time frame. Smile

When I was growing up, we used to shoot up in Silverado Canyon and later at the El Toro Marine base if I remember correctly. course, that was '63

If you need a range to practice, Poway Weapon & Gear in Poway has a 25, 50 and 100 indoor lanes with programmable turning targets.

Do you recall the Santiago Club range?  It was near Irvine Park.

When I was there in 79-81 I belonged to a club with a turning target range in Brea.  Seems like it was on Union Oil Co. land and was company sponsored but open to public membership?  Don't know if it is still there.

Not that I know of.  The only turning targets I found were at Poway, but there may be someone with more knowledge than I habesknce I'm relatively new here.

Jon Eulette...

Did San Margarita on MCB Pendleton get their range rebuilt for bullseye?

The ranges are open and matches have restarted, unfortunately, limited.  The last EIC was cancelled due to range maintanence.   Hopefully they'll start with regularity with the new pistol leadership.   LTCOL Rohdes is a class act.

Fleet match dates have been released and for EIC matches check the CMP forum, it's the most reliable for announcements.
