Wanted: trigger weight advice for .22 conversion
I'm getting a Nelson Custom Conversion (yay!) and am curious as to whether the lower I end up dedicating it to should have the trigger set at 2 lbs, or 3.5 lbs like the one for my .45. I liked the idea of having one platform to learn, which is what sold me on getting a conversion, but I wonder if keeping the trigger weights the same matters as much. Seems like having a lighter trigger would be a good thing; after all, I'm getting the sense that all triggers are different. Curious to get your thoughts.

I know of several people that started using their 45 lower and it's 3 1/2lb trigger. I'd spend money on a great trigger for your 45, from a known bullseye gunsmith (KC did mine) it will feel like 2lbs. Then as your scores increase get a dedicated lower and have that trigger done as well.

I tried the 3.5lb theory with my conversion then went to the 2lb route. Reason is, it is good for training but you are handicapping yourself and scores at a match.

Trigger quality and your liking trump weight any day. Looking at just weight, the big problem I see is shooting a light weight right after a heavy one. Big chance of an "oh shot!" shot. My trigger in the S&W to the right will lift 3# but feels like a hair trigger. I like it.
