S&W 14-5 on GB

Post by Chris Miceli on 5/28/2016, 3:53 pm

If I could afford it now I would buy it.  Just saw it on GB and figured someone here might want it.  I have no ties to the seller or the gun.

If there was a 'Buy it Now' price anywhere close to the current 'minimum bid not met', I'd love to buy it. With 4 days left in the auction I presume that the price may double before all is said and done.

They go for a premium-no MIM parts.

From what I've seen, nice ones go for $850-$950. I saw one NIB,(with the vapor wrap, tool kit, warrantee card) go for $1100.00.

Try to avoid the old PPC guns. They usually have a zillion rounds through them.

I just bid 600.00 on it to see if that made the minimum bid. It did not. Bummer. It will be interesting to see what it will go for. Nice pistol.

Its only up to 720.00 now but I won't be bidding on it again. I really really don't like bidding against a NR (not rated) bidder. Got burnt once. Won't happen again.

I sold a gun like that  (+95% with box, papers, and original grips) for $900 the market is all over the place, $700 to $1200. I regretted selling the Model 14-2 and just replaced it.

Full length lug is worth an extra $200 in my book so under $900 is a deal and $1300 is not insane if that is what you want.

I just bought a like new 19-3 for much less (under $600) and it shoots 158gn swc better than I thought she would -it will hold 3 to 4 inches at 50 yards.

rich.tullo,  I agree that the price is not bad. I picked one up for 1000.00 and then saw some go for 800.00. I think mine was a better pistol ( I keep telling myself that). It looks like this one is up to 880.00 now and the NR is still the high bidder. I got bid up by a NR on my model 52. I really wanted it so kept bidding. I was suspicious about the NR bidder so I kept checking his status. Two weeks later after bidding on another one of the sellers guns he got an F rating for not paying when he won. I let a NR outbid me on a Springfield 9mm Target and a week later the seller had it listed again. I am the curious type so I checked on their rating. Neither the buyer or seller gave the other any feedback. So.... I don't bid against possible schills.

You can buy grips like these that fit round butt (it is) and make them into square butt. These are Nills but you can get them from almost everyone that makes grips.

I wanted a 14-5 with the underlug!

Well I blew that, I was going to place an auto bid for $950 and see what happened but I got busy in the gun room and lost track of time. Oh well even though it sold for $880 he probably would have outbid me.
