This time of year the 1050 gets little rest and this is when it really pays for itself..Most of the fall and winter it sets idle as we consume what's  left over from the summer..
This is three training sessions and one 2700..

Thanks Jerry. Even though I feel inferior, I now have an even better idea of what it takes to improve and progress. 

I only have 2.5  5 gallon buckets of 45 (call it 115 lbs). 

I'm estimating that the top photo is around 700 .38 and .45 cases. 180 to 190 of those would be from the match Saturday and the rest would be practice. So somewhere around 500 rounds of practice CF and 45 per three training sessions.


I have a 22 match tonight in C-ville, but I plan to shoot after it is complete to get in some 1 shot and 2 shot drills at 25 yards.

This is why I wash my lead.. This fine lead residue, made up of flakes, dust and chips, is a product of the manufacturing process.. Because it is so minute in size, it easily melts when exposed to the flame front, and deposits on the bore surface..much like spray welding.. PPC is demanding, in that it moves from shortline to longline, back to shortline and again a 50 yard stage before the final quick six. 120 shots before the final 50 yard stage.. Lead in the bore is your enemy..Much of it, is the result of this residue..  Bullseye is a little more forgiving of  lead, because once the 30 shots at long line is over, the shortline is not quite as demanding in the accuracy department..But, why not take advantage of every possibility to gain a point.??

No... That's far beyond my needs, and switching calibers would be a nightmare.. I can switch out the 1050 in 30 minutes..
I am not sure the bullet feeders handle lead very well.. Otherwise, nice machine, I have a friend who loads commercially that has two of them..

Jerry what are you using to wash your LSWCs and does it remove the lube?

I use gasoline and it definitely takes the lube off..and I want it too.. As it is embedded with those micro particles. I do a 1000 at a time.. Rather simple, doesn't take much time.  The hot sun, aluminum pans and wax paper is all that's needed.
I replace the lube with a liquid alox called White Label 45-45-10 which is hard to beat..
I did this all thru my PPC years with those filthy Remington HBWC and it greatly improved the results..Back then it was just Liquid Alox which I heated in the micro wave to get it thin enough to get a light uniform coating.. 45-45-10 is the same product with ingredients which thin it, but I still heat it up in the micro wave to the consistency of water..leaves a thin bronze tint on the bullet.. Not messy at all, unless it over applied and or not hot....That's what the heat prevents..The bullets are very hot to the touch in 15 minutes in the bright sun.. The alox flows and melts onto the surface evenly.

Small plastic bucket.. Place the hot bullets inside.. A couple of tablespoons of Alox and swirl the bullets around until fully coated.. The heat is the trick..I place the hot coated coated bullets in a large flat aluminum pan lined with wax paper.. and let them dry over night.. IF there is too much lube on them, just take a paper towel and blot up the excess from the pan bottom..
