On the subject of 52-2s.....

Who DOES work on these? I got my trigger pull up to 2.5 Lbs with a new hammer spring but it's right on the dot. I'd like an ounce of insurance. I bought some sear springs but frankly I'm anxious about working on it. Especially after dinging my 41 trying to move that trigger adjustment pin(which I never was able to move/adjust....)

Larry Malin in Albuquerque will work on 52's but he has a backlog right now.

Sear spring is pretty easy; really.

Remove the back strap.
If you have a sear spring you will see how it fits.
There is a small diameter pin that holds it in.
You do not need to remove that pin.
Small headed flat bladed screwdriver(jewelers) and pry at bottom and lift and slide out toward bottom.
Take new sear spring and slide it up under retaining pin until it snaps into place, so to speak.

I totally disassembled my frame and replaced everything I had aquired over the years to get the trigger weight up.
Found the draw bar plunger spring to be broken and replaced the sear spring, both with new.
Trigger weight is +2.5#, not by much, but good now.

There is an exact order of disassembly and reassembly, take notes and pictures and it can be done with patience

You can also get a sear spring for a M-39/59. While the M-39/59 sear springs are a bit wider you can stone it down to the same width as the M-52 sear spring. The M-39/59 sears are made out of a bit thicker stock and will give you a touch more weight on the trigger.

More great info. Thanks Virgil. This gun was NIB and I'm guessing the springs are just old. As I said replacing the hammer spring made it legal barely. I actually bought some NRA trigger weights to be absolutely sure everything I shoot is at weight. Trigger pull gauges seem very operator dependent.

Thanks for posting that.  One of the guys here has 52-2 that needs a new sear spring.  I will forward it to him.
