I also have wondered about the Tisa. They have great reviews but I have not seen any from a Bullseye perspective. There is something to be said for not buying adjustable sights on a pistol that you plan on putting optics on in the future. For the Tisa the upgrades you would want to do right away would be a match barrel, bushing and trigger job. Upgrading the inside of the pistol is where the quality control of the manufacturer is so important. A slightly misaligned hole and quality trigger jobs are tough. The Springfield Range Officer has all of the options you will probably end up doing and do it for a price a lot less then adding them to the Tisa. If you are set on a GI model that you can work up to a quality match pistol then I would stick with a known and trusted pistol. For no more than the cost of a match barrel you could upgrade to a SA that has a match barrel. All of this is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Check out this model.

I got to look inside a stainless steel Tisa/Regent that was apart a few years ago. It had a strange front strap that the owner could not fit a Pachmayr or Hogue wrap-around grip on. Colt grips had a large area of frame showing on the front edge. It struck me as a copy of a copy. Since the owner was having some problems with it I had brought over a Kuhnhausen book, a drill index full of bits to gauge holes and variable calipers. Everything was a little off, at the edge of tolerances.

Really made me decide to stick with Colts, Springfields, STI and Caspian.
