Presumptive congrats to Phil Hemphill. He's a nice guy and a great shooter, well deserving of the accolades.

I've told this story on here before, but I'll tell it again because why not?

I shot the Bianchi Cup with others on the US Shooting Team in 2003. We showed up a few days early to train at the range that is right next door. We were fortunate to have the mentorship of some top shooters, including Phil.

Every time I'd walk of the practice range, Phil would be there asking, "How'd it go?"

And if I said, "Eh, not so great," he'd say (in his Mississippi drawl), "Well, WHY?"

And if I said, "It went pretty well, thanks," he'd say (in his Mississippi drawl), "Well, WHY?"

Smart guy.

My Congrats as well!! Phil is a super nice guy, very good shooter and former National Champion. Ive shot with him several times at Alabama matches. Must have been some adverse weather of some kind with all those 2600+ scores at canton not a single shooter made it to 2600 at perry.  I didn't see B.Zin's name anywhere did he not compete this year?

Zins did not compete this year at Perry. I'm told he was at the Cardinal Center teaching a group of Juniors, I'm also told there was a large turnout.
