Just joined the forum great information here . My question is this , is there a magazine that can be modified to hold 6 rounds to feed reliably in the 1911 with the full wadcutter 38 Special. I remember Mr Keefer saying that they shot them in PPC many years ago, Thanks

Not sure if you will get an answer here.  Because Bullseye only allows you to have 5 rounds in a magazine.  Anyway, welcome to the forum.  Lots of good material here.

Colt magazines and clones, like the Triple-K will only hold five rounds.  The follower is too deep to allow more than five rounds.  If you are talking about a modified .38 Super mag, I'm sure they will hold more than five.  Of course, the only time you might load more than 5 is during the slow fire stage, since the rules allow you to load any amount in the magazine for that stage; timed and rapid are five rounds only in the mag.

I checked, I have a Giles .38 conversion I'm selling for a friend.  The magazines are .38 Supers that have been modified.  They will hold seven rounds of .38 Special.  If you're interested in trying to modify a .38 Super mag, I can try and post of photo of what the feed lips look like on these.

Thanks for the reply cdrt , I would be interested in buying that mag. I want to use it for PPC also where you need to load 6 rounds in the mag. The course of fire is revolver friendly so semi auto uses 6 rounds . Send a PM and we'll make a deal, Thanks

Sorry, the two mags go with the pistol.  You might check with Clark Custom Guns.  They used to make their own .38 Special mags and they might be able to give you some pointers on how to modify a .38 Super mag.  I attached some photos to show you what it looks like.New Member 38_mag10

Clark is selling slightly modded Triple K mags. They suck.

I looked on the Clark site to see what they look like, but no photos.  I did get a shock, his price for a 1911A1 in .38 Special is up to $4625.  When I had the conversion done in the early 80's, it was around $300 if you provided the pistol.

I would definitely go with a modified .38 Super mag. These images are from an article on converting the .38 Super 1911 to .38 Special from the October, 1952 American Rifleman:
