Finally have my 52 feeding and running well all summer until yesterday .Every once in a while the hammer wont fall on the first shot without pulling the trigger very hard or pushing on the mag while its in the gun.. Round in the chamber, magazine inserted, safety forward in off position . Any one have an idea what's causing this ?

I had similar issues with a model 41. Mag disconnect was bad. I removed it. Problem solved. I'm unfamiliar with a 52. Does it have a magazine disconnect?

"Check the overtravel screw."

I second what droning said !
You have to take one grip panel off to access the set screw adjustment. Half a turn.

Yep !  I'll third that. Sometimes these tend to turn by themselves from the recoil

With the gun unloaded, muzzle pointed away from you and in a safe direction.

Counter clockwise . A half a turn should do it ,no less.
