SPF: Roddy Toyota Hardball Gun - TX

Post by Cort on Mon Sep 12, 2016 9:22 pm

I have a Springfield GI 1911 that Roddy Toyota converted into a hardball gun for me.  I then added a slide mounted scope rail and a 1" UltraDot so that I could use it as a backup wad gun.  Price is $1200.00 plus $35.00 shipping to your FFL.

Are you selling because you no longer compete?

My eyes are declining. The eye doctor says there is nothing he can do to help me. Consequently, I am no longer shooting Bullseye.

Cort,
Did Buddy put the rail on there for you?

Was the barrel replaced or is it the Stock GI barrel.

Daryl - Yes, Buddy put the rail on for me.

Sixftunda - Roddy installed a slightly used Kart barrel.  The Springfield barrel was a piece of junk.  He did not tighten the slide to frame fit but did everything else one would expect on a Bullseye gun.  The gun shoots very well at 25 yards.  I have not shot it at 50 as I quit shooting Bullseye shortly after I received it.

Daryl,

Many thanks.  If he can come to the Dallas area, I will take him out and let him shoot it.

Should Daryl's friend decide to not pursue things, I'd be interested in talking. I'm a brand new shooter, just starting out. I have a Browning Buck Mark Hunter 7", and just shot in my first 2700 today with a borrowed (and very nice) custom 1911

Talked to him and he declined.  This would be a good shooter for you and the price is right.  I've know Cort for a long time and he takes care of his stuff.  I traded with him for a Model 41 Smith a few years ago and have been very happy with it.

Just sorry you are having to give up competition shooting.  I did use the Model 41 to help me break 2500.  :-)

I am removing this pistol from the sale category.  I don't know how to delete the post.

You don't need to delete the post. It's nice to have the listing for reference in the future.
