25mm or 30mm in a dot? Which do you use and why? Advantages? Disadvantages?

I've tried both, I much prefer the larger size for a bigger picture.

I find the 30mm makes it easier to re-acquire the dot in rapid fire.

I find the 25 mm makes me hold tighter.  Never have had a problem acquiring the dot in timed or rapid fire.

30mm with a 3/4 inch diameter extension. It gives me the benefit of the ultradot 2 adjustability with less visual distraction. I run the standard extension on the back if the tube. This is on the 22. On the 45 I have an ultra dot 25mm.

What jmdavis said. 25mm on rail mounts, 30mm or more on frame (22 or wheel gun) mount.

I prefer the bigger aperture; better field of vision for recovery in sustained fire, and finding my giant wobble. That reminds me that I have one that I should put on my .22.

I have nothing but 30mm on my bullseye pistols.

It's just what I started with, under the assumption that bigger is better.

as you can see everyone is a bit different

I run 1" on light recoil( 22 and 38 super)

30 mm Sightron on my 45, but may be changing back to a 1" there

I've run both.  As long as you have a firm grip the 1" will do you well. I'm running 10 of the 1" now on a variety of 22's & 45's, no 30mm in the house.
