What are the top shooters using now?

Post by zanemoseley on Sun Jan 22, 2017 8:59 am

I'm curious what the top shooters (high masters) are using to win the national matches. Are they shooting just .22 & .45 or are they using the .32acp in pistols like the Pardini. Are they shooting 1911's and 22 conversions or have most switched to Pardini's for .22 and stuck with the 1911 for .45.

Hemphill and Zins used an AW93 for 22 and a 1911 45cal for CF and 45. Sanderson was a Pardini spokesman, but I don't know for sure what he used for CF or 45.

Typical high master shoots only 2 pistols for 2700. Been that way for a long time.

I believe KC did the triggers for Zins and Hemphill's 45s.

It's been a long time since someone won the Nationals shooting 3 guns.

But which two and for which events?

1911 (.45 and CF) and Pardini (.22)?

1911 (.45) and Pardini (CF and .22)?

Some other combo?

A quality 22 and 1911 45 is the most common

Hammerli 208/208S or Pardini for .22. Zurek is only big gun shooting a conversion unit I believe. 1911 45 for both cf and 45 aggregate.

I believe some of top female shooters are using 32 or 38 for CF
