New Air Pistol Empty New Air Pistol

Post by Magload Sat Apr 29, 2017 9:03 pm

This is the second time posting this the first time it showed it posted but then didn't show up on the board.  Happens to me often.

I received my new air pistol.  I ordered a Avanti 747 Triumph Match from Airgun Depot online.  I got a email a few weeks later saying this gun is not made anymore but they have a V10 I could have for the same price to call them.  I did and the CS said the V10 was $45 more and as I bought it using Paypal I could pay the difference.  I told him to look at the email it said I could have it at the same price.  The had to go ask a manager but came back and said it would be shipped right away.

My only complaint so far is the rear sight slot is so narrow I can't see light on both sides.  I don't shoot irons much and maybe on this gun that is right as is I see no light on either side the groups are centered horizontally. Vertically I have some work to do.  My first post I was having troubles fat fingering the flat faced pellets into the chamber but have since figured that out.  Maybe this will help my BE shooting I hope.  it is only a entry level gun but all I wanted to spend at the time.  Don

Could break out the needle file for the rear sight, or file down the front sight so it is narrower?  (I would do the rear notch but would first find out if i could pick up a few different blades for spares.)

Thanks extra blades is a good idea.  Filing the rear would be the easiest fix.  Don

Problem is solved.  The rear sight gap is adjustable.  Missed reading that in the manual.  Pistol got petty good ratings online for a entry level air pistol.  I will say the grips are butt ugly.  Fit and feel good but I am going to have to do a nice finish job on the wood that is not a gripping surface.  Don

I shot a V10 quite a bit when I was younger (it was called Gamo Compact back then). My dad had bought it to try out 10m pistol at his club. The fact that it's been in production for maybe 30 years or more tells you something. It's a fine pistol for the money, enjoy it.

I could see both of your posts.  Since this one is getting comments, and the other one has none, I will delete the duplicate.

Thanks Rob it takes me forever to type these things as I only use my trigger finger.  I think some times I hit the back arrow before the post is fully sent.
