Powder Measure

What is the most consistent powder measure in your experience?  Looking for one to reload for my 45 loads and need consistency

Star reloader for sure second is Dillon, more importantly is the powder you use, n310 has been the best. I checked everything in my analytical  scale.   Star averaged  +.020 grains average Dillon +.035 grains

I can measure some more and post up results.  my GD503 scale is a .0001 gram scale

I often use my IDEAl 55 myself.

The Hornady pistol measure on my LNL press is within 1/10, very accurate

I've found most measures are powder type dependent.

This was discussed some time ago but you will get variations in weight with variations in humidity, usually related to the seasons. Powder measures meter volume, and powder density can vary. I gave up worrying about that- not sure I could tell the difference. Personally, I usually use a Lee Pro Auto-disc with it's fixed volumes.

I was recently gifted a Redding BR-3 measure with the Pistol Insert.

Once the powder settles, it repeats rather well with small charges. i.e. 1.20-2.00 grains of VV N310

The micrometer offers a very fine adjustment.

For mass  production, I load with a Star using replaceable powder bushings.

I have a Lee Perfect Powder Measure. It lives up to its billing. It never varies more than .1 in either direction. The only powder I have had an issue with is H110, which should probably be individually measured anyway.

+1   And 700x doesn't meter either.

They all work well. Fit your price range.
Dillon , Hornady, Lee on the machine.

Uniform is fine with bullseye. So is the lyman 55.

If your asking about a powder measure not incorporated into a progressive press my vote would go for a "Harrell's Precision Pistol Measure".  I have two and believe that they are the very best available, albeit a little pricey.

I've got the RCBS Uniflow with the 50 grain drum for 9X19.  Titegroup, BE-86 and CFE Pistol all meter within +,- 0.1 grain.  Once dialed in, I measure a throw every 10 rounds.  I also use a piece of clean dry white cotton tee shirt to clean the innards after 200 throws or when changing powders.  I'm sure there are better measures out there.  Ford or Chevy?  Toyota or Honda?  Lamborghini or Ferrari?

I use the Lyman 55, and its always right on the money. As with any powder measure the person using it the same every time makes a huge difference..
