SOLD -- WTS: .45 ACP wadcutter

Post by JoeW on 4/14/2017, 5:34 pm

I’m selling the RO I purchased last year as I thin the herd to fund new purchases. I had a high master accurize it. It is extremely accurate--great success with 185 gr Zero brand JHPs behind 4.2 gr N310--but isn't a looker because of the slide. (The RO slide was out of spec, so he used an old Ithaca slide and fit that.) Here’s the scope of work done to it:

He added and fit a Nowlin barrel and replaced several parts with new ones including an EGW safety, cylinder and slide hammer set, cylinder and slide trigger, EGW slide stop pin, EGW undersized bushing, and SVI sear pins. He worked up slide to frame fit for the Ithaca slide; bushing is tight. He also installed a Clark custom scope mount.

Trigger is mostly crisp, but has a slight roll to it, which I prefer. As I said, it’s not a looker, but it shoots well. I’ve added a timed fire target from a couple weekends ago; nearly got my first clean ever (a 99-5X). The 5-shot targets from the long and short line were from a sandbag when I was working up my load; no doubt it would shoot better from a ransom rest.

Comes with the original case and accessories, including two RO mags. I have $1,800+ in it, but would let it go for $1,050, plus shipping from my FFL to yours. Thanks for looking!

BUMP -- Added new post-cleaning pics, including pics of the original grips. (I'll throw in the shark skin grips original pictured.)

Indeed. You've seen me shoot it. All 9's, 8's, and, um, worse are all me. :-)

Pretty sure they would have, but it never came to that. The guy who worked on it had a friend who wanted it--despite it being out of spec--so we worked out a trade.

I'm new to BE and have only shot a few 22 portions so far and lack 1911.  Thinking this might be a good way to get into the CF portion so interested. I know it may be hard to say but could you estimate ball park # rounds have been through it since accurized? It doesn't look like much wear on pics. Also being a newb can I assume long line target is 50 yds?

Hey Will, the pistol has less than 2,000 rounds through it since it was accurized. Yes, the long line target is 50 yards. Shoot me a PM; happy to answer any other questions!

Bump -- lower price $1,150

Post by JoeW on 5/1/2017, 12:55 pm

Lowering the price. A few folks have reached out inquiring about a lower price, but no official takers yet. Lowering to $1,150 (plus shipping from my FFL to yours).

BUMP -- lower price

Post by JoeW on 5/8/2017, 2:31 pm

My new pistol just arrived, so now I really don't need to have a back-up to my back-up. Lowering price to $1,050, plus shipping from my FFL to yours. I realize I'm newish to this forum--been reading it voraciously with intermittent posts for about a year and half now--so just let me know if you'd like a referral. Happy to chat. Thanks!
