Theiving USPS snakes. About 2.5 weeks ago I decided that I was tired of using cheap arse LSWC's and I ordered 2K of the Magnus .45 cal 185 gr swaged swc's for a friend & myself. Terry had told me to look for them about Tues or Wed of last week. I am anxiously awaiting on pins & needles for my bullets like a kid at Christmas time awaiting his Daisy Red Ryder 1000 shot BB gun. Tues, no bullets, Wed no bullets. Thurs no bullets. So I called Terry for the tracking #. The tracking # said that they came in LA Sat morning & left A tad later for destination.Sat no bullets so I figuring Monday morning. Mon no bullets, Tues no bullets. Today I catch the mail truck at mail box & ask him, "Hey Sergio" no response. I yell at him again "Hey Sergio" & finally the driver said in a very firm tone "No" I Yell "Richard" no mresponse. I yelled again "Hey Richard" no response. The tracking report says delayed & will not be delivered on time, with no reason.
"Sergio. mail sworker & friend is a gun guy. I can tell from the postal delivers that they know something but will not say anything. What a kick in the you know where.

I hate USPS and my mail lady is a cute blonde but still hate them. I get text that stuff was delivered at 2PM but she never shows before 4. Now she has been leaving my stuff under the mail box on the street curb. Like mt Nelson conv. I have called the Post Master several times and that would be your best bet. If you know the Post Office Sergio works out of call them and ask for the Post Master. Don

You can report missing mail on the USPS website. Luckily our regular postal carrier is really great. In our neighborhood, over the past few months, neighbors have been missing gift cards and cash from the mail, as well as, checks and money orders. Many of the stolen gift cards were used at local businesses. The neighborhood (HOA's aren't all bad) got together and reported the stolen items. A couple of weeks ago, U.S. Marshals took the "fill in" postal carrier away (from the post office) in handcuffs. Stealing from the mails is a serious offense.

Ouch, Jim, not me at all. I'm 73, not in good health, and I have always appreciated the fact that they delivered those heavy packages. Several weeks before this happened, I got my monthly copy of the Dillon 'Blue catalogue" & it was torn all to hell. Somebody had virtually ripped it open to look at it. Mine generally comes already opened & leafed through, but generally opened & leafed through in a civil manner. Sergio knocked on my door a couple of days later to chat guns. I asked him if he carried a knife. He replied "No, why". I advised him that someone had virtually ripped open my Dillon catalogue, & would he please pass on to his fellow employees to open gracedfully.
Do figure. Now I'm not too sure that I even want to trust them to pick up my outgoing mail, which is always bill payments.

USPS tracking still shows in the "Delayed status" & will not be delivered on time.

Reading this, alarm bells went off for me, I think your house is being cased. I'd check with your local PD about any local gun burglaries.
Sergio knocked on my door a couple of days later to chat guns.

Seriously. If someone wants to steal guns, they will look for just your sort of situation.

WOW!! I'm surprised to read this. I get USPS packages all the time, never a problem. The mail lady brings items too big to fit in my mail box and puts them inside my door if it's raining and on the porch if it's not. I told her if it's too heavy for her to carry leave a note and I'll pick it up at the Post Office, got a few boxes of bullets that were near the limit of 70 pounds yet she put them on my porch. The other day a package came that shipping was an error, they paid the Flat Rate small box fee but the item came in the Priority Small box so I had to pay $2.90. She delivered anyway and put a note in my box. When I went to the Post Office I found she took the money out of her pocket! However I live in a small city and when I go to the Post Office they know my name and never ask, always greet me with Hi Frank.

I really don't think that he would do that, Aprilian,. He's a friend or always has been in the past.
The timing might have been just a coincidence. But no one ever really knows for sure. Even though I am 73 & not in good health, I'm also very OCD & I do have a house gun. At my age I will defend myself & take my chances. Any uninvited guests I find in my house or threatening me will not walk out.

Since 2000 200 gr bullets weighs a LOT, my guess is that the postal workers set them aside somewhere.

I agree you are being cased, and even if you aren't, take the possibility seriously. Lock them up in a different part of the house than you sleep in, be cautious answering the door, and in the *very* unlikely night home invasion just stay put in your room and call the cops. No gun collection is worth getting shot ot stabbed over. Forget the macho 'over my dead body'... unless you are protecting family members.

I really don't think that I am being cases, and I think that I would know it if was.
I've only got a few handguns and they're keep in a safe almost large enough to walk in. I am very appreciative for the caution alerts. Many thanks again.

I had ordered 2000 lead bullets from another company that also ships them in a flat rate box and I got a note on my door saying that the box was too heavy for the mail carrier to load and the note said I could pick them up at the local post office. Took my hand truck and went to the post office and they loaded them up on my hand truck and commented that certain letter carriers would not pick up boxes that where "too heavy". Its not just bullets. I shipped a box of old magazines to somebody that bought the from me and the post office lost them despite the tracking. Again it was a box that weighed close to 50 pounds. FYI 2000 185 grain bullets weigh about 52 pounds plus the shipping box.

My mail carrier is fine, just slow. Usually gets here arounf 3 or 4. But when there is a sub on I get my mail around 12 or 1. Never had anything missing. Most of the time I order my cast bulets 500 at a time.

A few years ago I bought a shotgun with free shipping! That was the last time I did not insist on and pay for either Priority Mail or UPS. The shotgun was shipped parcel post/freight or something (slow boat from China). The USPS allows three week for those packages to arrive and that's exactly how long it took.

Even mailing a money order can sometimes take over a week I've found. That is especially true when I really want something quickly. Yesterday I mailed a money order for over 1000 match bullets which I bought at a great price. For that I splurged the $6.65 for Priority Mail. It will arrive in two days and I emailed the seller the tracking number.

My letter carrier is an over weight woman, mid 50's, without the upper body strength to lift 2000 bullets. I have to send my bullet orders to a PO box. During the winter she delivers after dark about 9 pm. Summers she sometimes does not deliver. Repeated talks to the Postmaster by me and the neighbors get the same answer, "I'll talk to her supervisor. "

We ship an average of 60 packages a week by USPS.
Very little problems for last several years. Lately, several damaged, some are delayed for days for no reason and arrive undamaged. Claims are paid fast, week or so by check from USPS. Last one we filed couple weeks ago to California. Box arrived torn open and bullets gone.
Gary Wells order is delayed locally according to tracking
Can't file a claim for like 20 days if just missing.
I turned all data on these problems to postal inspector thru my local Post Master. Since we are a large account they actually try to help. Will post more when we get some answers.

You can also contact the USPS Office of Inspector General and file a complaint that may also result in an investigation. In the past, my father-in-law, a retired Post Master has said that most of these problems are personnel related, meaning union related, thus beyond the means of supervision to correct.

Our USPS is good here, we installed an oversized mailbox and reinforced it due to someone smashing our previous mailbox. So far it held up to 3000 115GR 9MM HAP bullets and 500 185GR HAP .45 bullets at the same time... Thinking our USPS deliverer is a smart ass and is trying to get the last laugh if/when the mailbox finally breaks... My previous order of 12k Precision bullets resulted in a little note to pick them up at the Post Office, so they do have limits... 99% of the time our local USPS is awesome, UPS is ranked about the same, FedEx is down around 15% as they are horrible and if i use them i just pick it up myself from the FedEx office as they are a pain in the ass as far as delivering a package.

Didn't need to see this today, I'm expecting a case or .22's today, but at least it's coming FEDEX not USPS. But I've had issues with all of the carriers the last couple of years, USPS is still the worst but UPS ans FEDEX have not been as good lately as they used to be.

God Bless Terry. He came through. My replacement bullets arrived today.
In good shape I might add. Richard, the postman put them on the back steps,
It will be a while before I can load them as I have a wound on my left foot that needs to close.
