Spotting scope mount Empty Spotting scope mount

I am currently using a 4 gun Strong Box that came with a mount.  This mount is very handy and is fine till I bump the eye piece with my hat or glasses then the vibration is bad.  I have found that by placing a foam wedge tight between the bracket and lid helps a little.  Are the ones that clamp to the bench like that Champion's Choice has any better?  I really don't want to spend $80 to find out.  I just got a adapter to mount my IPhone to my scope and it just shakes to much when I touch the shutter button.  Don

Ok so I am a little bit clumsy being old and blind doesn't help either but I will manage. Just trying to add to all the junk I already have to carry to the line.  Don

I'm not sure why the picture came out sideways... but I built this because with muzzleloaders we can't have something like a box on the forward bench. And at the nationals a full tripod for a scope can make your shooting area crowded. The shooting area per shooter is not by any means large. But even this if bumped does sway a little. The trick is to not bump it. I don't ever bump it though because of the angled eye piece on the scope. I just have to lean over it and look. The scope has good eye relief too so I'm not pressing my glasses to the scope trying to see.

Tim I think you just hit the nail on the head.  My Simmons 20 to 60X scope has very little eye relief.  I have to have my glasses up aginst the eye piece and when I have my fit over sunglasses on it is even worst.  It does have the angled eye piece.  I guess you get what you pay for.  i am hoping this IPhone adapter works out for me but we all know how well they can be seen in the sun.  Really worked great in the front yard and will work at the indoor range.  Don

BTW looking closer at your picture and looking at the scope not the mount I think that maybe the same scope as mine.  Oh well maybe it is my glasses or my eyes.  Don

Mine is a Tasco purchased from Walmart. Not long after they quit putting Tasco on it and started putting Simmons on it.

I have used a lot of Tasco stuff but didn't know they were now Simmons.  Thanks now I know that the eye relief is not the scope but is my eye glasses.
