2018 Camp Perry Calendar released by CMP

I don't see any problem with this proposed calendar. It actually creates some continuity and differentiates the CMP events from the NRA events. I think by keeping them separate it will help newer competitors to understand the difference between the 2 courses and it might encourage more participation.

I'm just guessing but it looks like the NRA would hold the .45 matches on Friday, the CF on Thurs., 22 on Wednesday, with Prelims, Harry Reeves, and DR on Tuesday. That leaves Monday open for maybe something new, but it looks like there is plenty of time allocated to NRA for everything to work.

We'll see what happens from here....

I don't see NRA Smallbore or High Power on the calendar.  I thought everything was moving back to Perry?

This seems to give Canton the weekend just after the 4th of July which is great!

Hopefully Monday can be for Air Pistol or just down time.  Some older people like me would like a break after 3 days at Canton. Monday is probably needed for NRA volunteers to get set up anyway since some may be at Canton as well.

I personally think this is a good a schedule. Hopefully everyone can get together and make it happen.

Thanks to all.

I like this year's format of being able to shoot pistol SAFS, Service pistol, nti pistol, and President's Pistol in one weekend. With my current job, I can usually only come for two weekends- not three. I didn't think if it this year, but next year, I will actually go to rifle SAFS as well if I can shoot all my pistol events the weekend before.

I think the CMP and Camp Perry did a nice job with the matches.
Grounds looked nice, after Fridays rain, the ranges were dry on Saturday!
First time in Barracks, reminded me of a Boy Scout outing.
We sure look different waking up!

Only complaint was no onsite dining hall, thank you Twisted Sisters for your sausage egg and cheese offerings!

Thanks to those vendors who graced us with your presence!
You're part of the reason we come to Perry to shoot!

It was nice not being rushed to shoot!
Hoping the NRA Matches go as well!

Looking forward to being back in a week!

Matches were run differently then I remember. We got 2 minutes of prep time before our 3min prep time started every time we setup on a bench.

I'll be driving back for Perry end of the week

The pre-preparation time and a preparation time prior to timed fire made these very enjoyable matches to shoot!

Great job to all the CMP!

Also, a special thanks to the CMP volunteers who without their help the matches would not be possible!

Does anyone know if we are going to have a mess hall for the NRA match?

The CMP schedule is out but the NRA schedule is not cut in stone. I will probably be as posted but may change. That was stated by the new Director of the NRA at the Awards Ceremony, My son Adam works with the NRA to adjust military scheduling and said the same. My other son had some type of meeting of NRA Small bore shooters on his phone connected to the internet. They are very happy with their new location and see no reason to return to Perry.
