With my skill it does not matter but I have been happy with Precision Delta hbwc.

Greetings,

Fired from a barrel tester, the Remington always come in first place. Usually a ten-X group at 50 yards.

The other "major" brands will shoot a solid ten-ring group at 50 yards.

Cheers,

Dave

I've had excellent results with Zero and 2.7gr of WST. If you're looking for factory Federal is a good choice. I haven't tried the Zero loaded ammunition in .38 HBWC but I'm sure it's excellent as well.

Remington, by far. Zero/Magnus are pretty close, but I get leading with them, and none with the Remingtons.

Oh, and 2.7gr WST.

I'd love to try Remington but it looks like that won't be happening....

Not Jim but it's a bullet lube and the #'s refer to the % of mix: 45% Lee Liquid Alox, 45% Johnson's Paste Wax and 10% Mineral Spirits.

I just go with premix:

Where do Stars rank? I have 1k that I've been saving but if they aren't exceptional I might as well just use them.

Yep!   Totally beyond me why all the other manufacturer's wadcutters are sized to .357".   I cast my own HBWC's, and they come out of the mould at .360"

the old stars were pretty darn good. at least in my Clark 38s... shoot them at the long line and see

Magnus HBWC are very good these days.

45-45-10 is the cats' a** for leading issues.

on the 45-45-10 depending on the existing lube I some times simply over coat the bullets... quite often on wax lubes... the old star lube was nasty at times so I wash it off with mineral spirits.
