My MCP 1911 that has been rebuilt.
Has the KC Aimpoint micro slide cut (full rib holes have been welded), Kart  Barrel, KC roll trigger kit.
Medium length trigger, 30lpi checkering.
The gun has chips and scratches in the finish.

It shoots Xs and 10s for me when i do my part.

$1500 buyer pays shipping, your FFL must accept from a non FFL.

This pistol had the sides of the slide surface ground to remove logo and lighten slide. Internal slide cut to lighten slide. Before Crawford rear sight cut for Aimpoint Micro the slide weighed identical to standard slide. Bottom edges of slide 45 degree chamfered. Frame rails welded and refit to slide. This is the most badass MCP on the planet. You won't be disappointed.

Me too, although it wasn't this pistol.  The nicest thing about posting on this forum is that you get feedback with ideas from other people, one of whom pointed me in the right direction to find a different gun.

Wouldn't it be great if the performance of a wad gun was directly proportional to the quality of the pistol?     :-)    We would all be getting as perfect a score as we could afford!!

The performance of a wad gun is directly proportional to the quality of the pistol.

The performance of the shooter is directly proportional to the commitment, training and dedication of the shooter.

I'd rather combine them - the performance of an ordinary shooter will also likely be "better" with a quality pistol.

I know what you meant, and I agree.  I should have worded things better.

Don't mean to get off track in the Classified Section but:

Probably not and I would not use the word "likely".  I would say "maybe".  Eventually the quality of the shooter will bring the combination back to the lowest common denominator - the ability of the shooter.  I've even seen some shoot worse with a "better" (smaller grouping) pistol.  It's the whole package and the loose nut behind the gun that makes the difference.

(Now I'm not talking Glock 19 versus KC / Jon / Keefer, etc. 1911 here.  But Les Baer, Springfield RO, etc. compared to full custom; its mostly the shooter.  An inch or so in group size from full custom to a good RO will not result in that many points overall.  A 5 is still a 5 be it with a 3 inch gun or a 1.5 inch gun.  A Ruger will shoot the same 7 as a $3,000 Pardini if that is where they are both pointed when the sear trips.  And you can never buy commitment....)

Anyway, I mainly wanted to address the potential mindset that a lot of shooter have that maximum money, minimum group size and best whatever is needed. (and I know you did not mean to imply that).

My advise has always been to get a decent Ruger Mark II, learn how to shoot, get to Master scores with the .22 and then form an opinion of equipment versus training and learning.

Done for today.  You all have a great time at the range.  Its raining and a little windy here so a perfect time to train for Perry.

Thanks
