I heard a rumor that a certain High Master shot a 100-7X 50yard slow fire with their .45 at yesterday's match.  I would love to see a pic of that target.  Better yet, I would love to understand the mental discipline/mind set they used.

If you were to compare it to golf, kinda like getting a double eagle.

Here the the picture. 1st string for .45 Slow Fire match after lunch.  Dewey's signature was cut off of the pic.  15 attempts for 10 completed shots.  Dropped mag, cleared gun and dryfired 3 times after shot 12 because of 2 attempts in a row without seeing acceptable shot process.  I'm old and wobble a lot. Yes, I scope every shot. Completed in about 8 minutes compared to the 4 to 6 minutes that had been used previously for .22 slow and CF slow (mostly due to how cold it was for those relays).  Only able to followup with a 93, but hey, i'm 61 years old and it's been a while since I cleaned a CF / .45 slow fire string.

Actually had a lot of fun shooting this string, but used a lot of mental energy simply getting the trigger to process about a millisecond sooner than I had been doing and not completing the unacceptable shot(s).  Takes a lot of mental fortitude to not complete a shot when you've put that much physical and mental energy into a shot that just does not want to go the right way.  All the completed shots were with the dot moving toward the center, which was the goal.

I was even happier to have shot some good slow fire strings in the .22 match, since my last match was last October and it was cold to start with at the match. And also cleaned the .45 Timed Fire match, which is pretty good for me since I have to work a lot at the short line too.

Had a lot of fun at the match,  Clark puts on a good match and we had a good turnout.

For those that focus on other unimportant details; 4.4 gr VV 310, 1.20 OAL, 185 Zero JHP, WW primers and cases; gun not cleaned since about October 2017. Just Kroil and a brush through the barrel when I packed it up for the match.  Springfield Armory gun gotten off this list a couple of years ago.  Don't know who did the barrel.  Looks like a KC Crawford mount for Aimpoint Micro with holes drilled though the shades to get to the mounting screws. 3.75 lb trigger by Doug Hall Engineering at Perry last year.

Thanks again to all those that came out for Clark's match and who will be at SWGC next weekend.  We really appreciate you supporting the programs.

It all goes in the journal.  There's a lot more to write down when things go well.

When they don't go well, there's not much to write.  Otherwise, I'd just be making a list of what not to do and I don't need to write that down.  Sometimes, there's a lot about what I "should have done" though.

Thanks for the pic.  To me, a picture is proof of what is possible.  To quote a many times national champion who asks that he not be quoted, "Your body cannot go where you mind has not been".  Pictures like this help my mind go to places that before seemed unattainable.

Cecil that's great you're getting a full line, even when the Eastern games are going on (granted, its rifle this weekend).  I did the rifle SAFS rifle class today, and it was packed.  I really want to shoot your match tomorrow, but Eric insisted I shoot on his 4 man team.  John held my hand during the SAFS match.  You know, those Herrins are nuts. They shoot everything.  God, did I learn alot today.  Anyway, thanks Cecil.
