WTB Colt GI grip safety

Post by Jon Eulette on 2/23/2018, 6:26 pm

I'm building a pistol and need a Colt GI grip safety for the build. Does somebody have an original Colt that they would be willing to sell?
Thanks

Brownell's sells them, but I suppose the new ones are MIM.

They are poorly made. They don't match frame contour very well. Getting hard to find good ones.

Jon, How do you tell? I might have one.

And you probably have seen these.

Len I hadn't seen that. Thanks.
Truthfully I never researched them and took it at a persons word that they were Colt. I used to have about 30 or so of them and used all of them to build guns.

Yours is a Colt I believe. It has the narrowed leg on the trigger stop portion. I've never seen that on others makes.

Jon, let me check.  I'm pretty sure I have a few of them in the bin.

If KC can't help then I don't need this one. I can't imagine putting it back on the old Gold Cup.

Pardone my buttinski.  I have a real nice Colt Mk IV Series 70 Government Model.  Someone put an extended safety on it.  Otherwise it is all original.
If any of this discussion frees up a proper Colt Safety piece.  Let me know.  Roddy could help me fit it.
