Like new Clark (Jim Sr build) 6" Bullseye Pistol

Post by Sparky on Fri 15 Jun 2018, 10:51 am

Howdy,
New to this forum.  Not a Bullseye shooter, but have respect for you guys and girls.
Not sure what the rules are, but I have an older friend that has a Jim Clark Sr 1975
long slide 45acp Bullseye pistol with a sight rib on top.  The pistol is like new, has less
than 1000 rds fired.  He bought it in 1977, shot it a little and put it in the safe and
there it has set until now.  He wants to sell it, but does not know what it is worth.
Can someone on forum help us?  I have pictures that I can email.
Thanks,
Ron

Gunbroker is a good place to look for pricing on similar Clarks..

anywhere from 1700-2500 depending upon condition is what you will  see being asked on Gunbroker...doesn't men they are being sold for those prices so check Completed auctions for the actual sale prices.

Thank you for the quick reply.  I did check Gunbroker and one Identical pistol is posted
for $2600.  So your info is spot on.  This pistol is truly like new.  Thanks, Ron

What folks ask for and what they sell for can/may be very different.
“Completed sales” are the key words you are missing.  Some/many firearms stay on gun broker for months, because the seller doesn't recognize the difference.
Market value may also shift.  What something sold for years ago, may be less or more than it will sell for today.

Yes sir,
I agree, thank you for the info.  Just checking to see what he might
post it for sale.  It also has two mags.  I need to check the forum rules
to see how you post something for sale, etc.  Again thanks for the comments.

using the completed auction function (you have to have an account to use it) I found the following for your

one relisted several times with a reserve, not sold,
bids up to
2000
1700
1400
1700

another with red dot, 2000

3rd gun 1526

4th 1375

all appear to be in great shape,

I sold a couple out of an estate years ago, all in the good used condition, for around 2K

FWIW, I kept a somewhat worn finish wise,, mechanically sound 45 long heavy for myself,
it shoots very well

Thank You, that helps a lot.  Had another busy day (I am Retired, but never know it).
My friend is not looking for a ton of cash for this gun, any reasonable amount would
work for him.  He'd rather see someone shoot it than it just sit in his safe.  Does this
Forum have a "For Sale" section?

Price varies wildly on these. I bought a perfect 1963 longslide locally for $1100 iirc.  The guy was trying to sell it for more than six months. If you have the patience to sell on gun broker, that’s where the most money is going to be. Take very, very good pictures and lots of them.
