Model 52 Barrel Empty Model 52 Barrel

The barrel for my S&W Model 52 is marked:

38 SPECIAL
MID-RANGE

I am embarrassed to admit that I never noticed the "mid-range" part before, as both lines are somewhat faint.  Is this an OEM barrel or an aftermarket?

Whew, that's a relief!  I didn't see any sort of S&W imprint or logo, so I pulled out my old Model 39, which is simply marked "9MM" and made me feel slightly better.  However, it's always good to get verification from this esteemed group!
