Drilling & tapping Benelli 95e
Drilling & tapping Benelli 95e
I’d like to mount a red dot on a Benelli 95e non grooved barrel. I’ve looked at Larry’s mount, but wonder why not just have a good gunsmith drill and tap for a base and use indexing rings? Anyone using this type of set up? TIA

I have seen it done. With that gun you are going to need medium hight rings.

You will need tall rings.

On my MP 90Ss, non grooved barrels, my LGS made a short base to replace the rear sight. I have a Burris FF3 mounted. I didn’t want to increase the overall weight any more than necessary. Just a thought.

I drilled and tapped my MP90. Two holes on the bridge between the rear sight and the back of the bolt. I installed a short Weaver base and use a 1" Ultradot mounted with one Weaver ring, cantilevered back over the rear sight. This is working extremely well for me.
With the Benelli 22, anything mounted over the ejection port is likely to give you alibis.

Greg & Jim, could you post a picture of your set ups please. I’d like to see how it looks. I like both ideas. Greg, does your dot have to be removed for cleaning?
Thx,
Brad
