Depends on if it is very sunny out. ;-) If over cast not really much help. However, a wise Dr. Norman wong says " For your (shooting) eyeglasses, consider using polycarbonate lens material, Transitions tint, or UV coating to block ultraviolet. Shoot well while shooting safely."
He makes no comments on sunglasses while shooting that I am aware of or polarization.

When it is bright out and sunny I use sunglasses. I keep clear lenses on the bench ready for when clouds roll in.
