CCI SV .22LR Empty CCI SV .22LR

Other than packaging variation is there any difference in the actual cartridges between CCI SV 032 100 pack vs 035 50 pack?

Since no one has answered yet, I'll throw in my two cents, because that's all it's worth.  Neutral  The regulars over at Rimfire Central are mixed on this subject. Some believe the packaging is the only difference. Some believe that 032 is a step better in quality than the 035, a tiny step.  Then there is 033 Green Tag and 051 Pistol match. So in order of quality, lowest to highest, 035-032-033-051. Me, I can't tell the difference between 032 and 035, and my wallet doesn't like 033 and 051.  Laughing It would be interesting to know what the truth actually is.

I have found no accuracy difference between 0032 and 0035. However, I found that once in a while a single round of 0035 has been found to have a glob of lube or something on one of the nose of the bullets. Perhaps that is the difference, I don't know. I was hoping that some knows rather than guesses. There is a difference in price of 0032 vs 0035. Is it packaging only?

Yes. 032 is the plastic 100 pack. 035 is the paper 50 pack. However the price difference is much greater than the cost per rd. So, back to the question, is the cost difference more than the package? It is not uncommon to find the 0035 for $.05 - .06 per round. The 0032 is often $.07 - .08 per rd.

If I were to hazard a guess, I would say the difference in price was just the packaging. Plastic costs more than paper. I have shot both and can see no difference according to the Ransom Rest testing.....Paul

I have shot both side by side from a bag rest and found no discernible difference. Granted, my hand/bag is not a ransom rest.

There was a time they were produced on 2 different lines but during the last plant upgrade the older equipment was replaced.  Now they are both produced on the same line they just have different packaging lines.

Lately I've seen 100 packs only costing about $0.50 more than 2/50 packs.  This is only a very slight premium over the packaging cost difference.

Thank you. I look forward to finding that close of a gap between cost per round when I shop, mostly online.

Champions Choice  $2.50/50 pack and $5.50/100 pack ($5.20ea when you buy a case, $260).  I think they charge for shipping so they aren't the cheapest.

I prefer the 100 rd plastic containers for ease of metering rounds out of the case. I only have 5 or 6 of them so I just reuse them. The 100 rd container has 2 50 rd trays in it. Identical to the 50 rd tray in the paper box. It is a matter of seconds to swap empty trays out for full ones. So basically I get the lower price and the better container.

I was considering buying a case of the plastic packaged stuff from Champions, soley because I think the plastic may handle rough handling during shipping and follow on storage better then the paper. I am probably way off on that though.

Since cci just hangs there, I’m sure they are the same in shipping. Usually shipped a box in a box. Unless from Midway....

I was about to buy a case of it at Target Sports, but...

I have a High Standard Tournament worked over by Dave Sams, specifically tuned for CCI SV. And it is usally 100% with it...usually I have ignition issues with Eley and function issues with other stuff. Today I opened a "new" brick...and it wouldn't cycle anything...to be fair the gun wouldn't cycle RWS target rifle, SK Std+, Eley club(though it did ignite) and various subsonic ammo which I figured it wouldn't.

Most of the CCI SV I have I bought a brick at a time at gunshows during the panic. Non of the paper boxes have any lot # on them.

Gonna grab a box from each of the other bricks and see how that shakes out

Another thread mentioned no lot numbers found, so I'll note here that the paper boxes I have seen have a pressed/embossed number on the bottom.  It can be enhanced with a felt tip pen.  Reporting it here  might be useful to others if problems are noted.

I ran my thumb across both ends of the box, in and out..even broke out a magnifier...if it's there...it is super faint...
