I have used Alan's red follower magazines.  They are good ones.  I installed one of Alan's new firing pins in a 107 Trophy gun.  It works great.

Alan, other than the parts being manufactured now, rather than ages ago, are the HS guns the same as those that were available in the past, or has anything changed?

Do the new guns come with a rail, and/or steel sights?

Can the new guns be dry-fired safely?

Do the new guns need anything done to them, or are they all set to pack off and head to a match?

Beautiful picture.....

I've been struggling with my Nelson kit, and with my old S&W 41, but my even older High Standard is somehow different in that I get better groups shooting it.

Was nice to talk to you on the phone today!  Glad you're back!!

High Standard Texas Plant Empty Response to "X-Series" Questions

Post by alaronstein on 10/2/2019, 7:25 pm

1)  "X-Series", HS-TX, and HS-CT Pistols ALL have Parts that will interchange.
The Parts that Required Individual Fitting- Will STILL require Fitting !!!
2) "X-Series Pistols are supplied with (2) Magazines and the Scope/Red Dot Rail- The Vent Rib will be available at a reduced Price with Pistols.
3) Dry Firing is OK- The Firing Pin Point does NOT extend past the Front of the Slide.
4) I would suggest the firing of 300rds prior to Actual Match Use.
5) I have talked to HS Pistol Shooters for about 26 years- It seems that they prefer the HS over the S&W Model 41- I guess that is why they have a     High Standard Target Pistol !!! - Now the Model 41 Parts are drying up.

Watch for More Product Announcements SOON !!! - Alan Aronstein

Alan,

  • How much do you test fire each gun before shipping?
  • From your photo, can I assume you do all the testing with Aguila ammo?
  • During those 300 rounds of "break in" (both the gun, and the shooter), is there a guide to tell people what might need adjusting, and what adjustments to make should one of those things happen?
  • Can extra magazines be ordered along with the gun, and if so, would you adjust all of them for that gun?
  • Finally, have you made any design changes to the "locking button", or does it still need a tap from a mallet or something to "break it loose"?

Also, just curious, I accept that the slide lock lever is on the right side of the gun, and it's finally starting to feel "natural" for me, but was there a decision long ago to place it on the right, not the left, and if so, why?  I expect to order one when I return from my visit to India.  I have a feeling that by then, I'll be put on a waiting list......
