NFI - There is a .22 conversion for sale on Gunbroker, marked LGI with a serial number LGI0007. I was not aware that Larry manufactured his own conversions...

Looks like an early Marvel conversion. No different than the ones I bought back then....
I have a feeling the steel Colt magazine was traded for a plastic magazine. I don't recall seeing plastic magazines til much later.
Very doubtful that Larry did anything special to it. Signum ammunition was used 99% of the time on the early Marvels. So it was probably just marketing. Even Joe Chambers had Marvel making him parts for his conversion. Joe only rebarreled and prettied them up as far as I know; not a lot you can do to the upper.

Don't believe its real early Marvel production parts, as it appears to have the thicker extractor? (Could be my eyes?)
Testing with Signum was not done until later in the production.  Maybe around the Marvel B to D prefix time for the parts?  The slide stop pin appears to have the reduced diameter in the middle which does put it somewhat early.  Relief radius on left side of slide and looks like a little relief on locking notch cutout on the barrel would also appear to take it out of the very early production.  I only saw a couple of these at Larry's at Perry for a couple of years, can't remember exactly what years though.

Thanks Cecil. Anyone know when Marvel stopped using soft cases?

I got an earlier number H series with a soft case.  There was probably some overlap during the change over.  And there may be G's in a hard case as well.

So... How high would ya'll bid on this?

I've been thinking about an upgrade from my faithful Ruger MKII, but cannot justify a fancy European firearm. This seems like the perfect step in the right direction and I can get myself a dedicated lower when the time is right.

No. That is not the target conversion, the full slide reciprocates on that one. Not only are the sights terrible, you need to use high velocity ammo to get it to cycle correctly. The target model is what you want, the sight rail is screwed into the barrels of the target 22 conversions.
