Alliant Unique Powder in 9mm

I am a long time rifle reloader but have not loaded pistol yet because I am new to the sport. I just inherited about 4 lbs of Alliant Unique powder and a new Hornady progressive reloading press. Is Unique a good powder to use in my 9mm (match 1911) for 50yds?

It’s as good as any especially to get your feet wet.  Here is a Quickload run of 5.0 Unique with a 115 bullet.  5.5 was a bit warm.

I am still burning Unique by the prior maker, and it is a bit flashy.  I always got good accuracy with it.

I switched to Be-86 which is similar but meters much better.

Hey Wobbley what program is this? I'm in a similar boat as the op. I am having a hard time getting titegroup locally but have a ton of unique. Trying to find load data for the Brazos 115 lrn has proven difficult. I may need a new source.

Same here, I found that Unique does not meter accurately in my Dillon 650.  Otherwise Unique is a great powder!

The quick load shows a fmj so a lead bullet would need less.

What does the google say for data?

It will also load down (as in reduced loads) better.  Get too low with unique and it gets very dirty.
