I've done everything I can think of to post the instructions here but I keep getting a "too large or corrupted file message".  I even compressed it down 157 kb, still getting the error message.  Anyway, if you would like a copy, please email me (p.mcfall@hotmail.com) or PM your email address and I'll send the files to you.  I emailed them to myself and it worked just fine.

I'm not the best with computers (and many others things by the way).

What is the exact file name of the file you are trying to upload?  Please include whatever follows the "." in the filename.

How did you try to compress it?  Did the file name change in any way, in addition to the file size getting smaller?  If so, please post the new filename here along with the file name for the original.

Also, where did you get the original instructions from.  If you downloaded, what was the name of the website from which you downloaded them.

Exact name  IMG_20200527_0001.pdf and is 1.03MB.  I then compressed it to 157 KB.  Still wouldn't go.  Compressed using freepdfcompresser.com.  File name then IMG_20200527_0001.pdf.compressed.

PDF files came from my scanner.

Are you using "host an image" or "insert image"?

I'm not sure if phpBB will work with a pdf image.
I did find this:  https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2475751

Can you scan it to save as a 'jpg' image?  That will work for sure.

I suspect the forum software doesn't recognize the ".compressed" format.  How many pages is the document?  Did you scan as b/w or color?  At what resolution?

If you scan it again, just save the scan as a 'jpg' image, which you can post here by using the "host an image" tool.  You'll need to do one page at a time.  I don't think the "compressed" format is the problem - I think it's that the forum software here does not accept pdf images for uploading.  Read the link up above about phpBB.  There may be a work-around, but most scanners should easily save things as 'jpg' images.

If you have an iPhone, just take a photo of each page - the iPhone will probably save it as a 'jpg' image, although some of the newer iPhones want to save as 'heir' compressed images.  Or, if you have a camera, take photos of each page that way.  The camera will save them as 'jpg' images.

Day Arms .22 conversion unit Empty Instruction Page PDF reduced size

Post by dronning Thu May 28, 2020 3:40 pm

I'm not close to my computer with full Adobe editing so I used Photoshop to compress for web view and had to separate the 2 pages before compressing still in PDF format.  File size are 140 & 180KB.
