Nice full lug Model 17

I'd go for it if I didn't already have one.

I believe that's the 10 shot version?

Not all 617's are 10 shot.  The earlier 617's were 6 shot.

I bought a new inbox 17-2 and a lightly used 17-2 in the last month.  Pretty cool little pistols.

"Smith model 17-8 6 inch , rare alloy cylinder Gun."

I am sure an alloy cylinder is strong enough for .22 LR but...  Nice revolver nevertheless.

Cecil is correct - gun on GB is 10 rounds one.  S&W 17-8 was indeed manufactured with 10 shot cylinders circa 1996.  I've seen them listed on GB before as well.  Here is the reference article - http://www.dayattherange.com/?p=1027

Wow, learn something new every day. Glad I didn't take any bets on that!
